Lithium battery transportation includes air transportation, water transportation and land transportation. So far, the most commonly used air transportation and sea transportation are mainly discussed.

Because lithium is a kind of metal that is particularly easy to have chemical reaction, it is easy to extend and burn. Lithium battery packaging and transportation, such as improper handling, easy to burn and explode, and accidents also occur from time to time. More and more attention has been paid to the accidents caused by the non-standard behaviors in the packaging and transportation. There are many regulations issued by many international organizations, and the management organizations are also increasingly strict. The operation requirements are improved, and the regulations and laws are constantly modified (for example, the regulations of itat are modified every two years for the transportation of original imported UV light lithium battery)

Lithium battery transportation qualification report and content editing

The content of the goods transportation condition appraisal is composed of UN38.3 test report and 1.2m drop packaging test report.

UN38.3 test content

(for a single battery)

UN38.3 is section 38.3 of the manual of tests and standards on lithium battery detection prepared by the United Nations Committee of experts on the transport of dangerous goods

T.1 height test

It shall be stored for at least 6 hours under the low pressure condition of pressure ≤ 11.6kpa and temperature 20 ± 5 ℃.

T.2 temperature test

Repeat the test at high and low temperature at 75 ± 2 ℃ and - 40 ± 2 ℃, storage time ≥ 6h in the limit temperature; high and low temperature conversion time ≤ 30min, repeat 10 times; then store at room temperature (20 ± 5 ℃) for 24h, the total test time is at least one week.

T.3 vibration test

In 15 minutes, the frequency swings between 7Hz and 200Hz and then returns to the logarithmic sweep of 7Hz. This vibration process must be repeated for 12 times in each direction of three mutually perpendicular battery installation directions for a total of 3 hours. One of the vibration directions must be perpendicular to the end face.

T.4 impact test

It must be subjected to a half sine wave shock with a maximum acceleration of 150 gn and a pulse duration of 6 ms. Each battery shall undergo three impacts in the positive direction of three mutually perpendicular battery installation directions, and then three impacts in the reverse direction, a total of 18 impacts Large batteries and large batteries are subjected to a half sine wave with a maximum acceleration of 50 gn and a pulse duration of 11 Ms. Each battery or battery pack shall undergo three impacts in the positive direction of three mutually perpendicular battery installation directions, and then three impacts in the reverse direction, a total of 18 impacts.

T1-T4 judgment conditions: the weight loss is within the allowable range, no leakage, no air leakage, no disassembly, no rupture and no combustion, and the open circuit voltage of each test battery or battery pack after the test is not less than 90% of the voltage before the test. The battery and battery pack meet this requirement. The voltage requirements do not apply to test cells and batteries in a fully discharged state.

T.5 external short circuit test

Under the condition of 55 ± 2 ℃ and external resistance < 0.1 Ω, the short circuit lasts for 1h after the battery temperature returns to 55 ± 2 ℃. The battery or battery pack must be observed for another 6 hours before the test is completed.

T5 judgment condition: if the shell temperature of the battery or battery pack does not exceed 170 ℃ and there is no disintegration, rupture or combustion within 6 hours after this test, this requirement is met.

T.6: impact test

9.1kg heavy object falls on the battery with 15.8mm round rod from 61 ± 62.5px, and the surface temperature of the battery is detected and observed for 6 hours.

T6 judgment condition: no disassembly / damage / combustion within 6 hours, battery surface temperature < 170 ℃

T.7: overcharge test

The charging current is twice the maximum charging current recommended by the manufacturer, and the minimum voltage for the test is as follows:

(a) when the charging voltage recommended by the manufacturer is not greater than 18V, the minimum voltage for the test shall be twice the maximum charging voltage of the battery pack or the lesser of 22V.

(b) when the charging voltage recommended by the manufacturer is greater than 18V, the minimum voltage for the test shall be 1.2 times the maximum charging voltage of the battery pack.

The test shall be carried out at ambient temperature. The test time shall be 24 hours.

T7 judgment condition: observation for 7 days, no disintegration, no combustion

T.8: check the forced discharge:

The battery is connected to 12V DC power supply in series, and the maximum discharge current is used for forced discharge.

1.2m drop test

1.2m drop test (after packaging) the packed lithium battery falls from 1.2m (the lowest point of the battery) to 18-20mm thick hardwood board (the board is laid on the cement floor) under the condition of 20 ± 5 ℃, falling once from X, y, Z plus or minus six directions. (drop 6 faces, 3 sides, 1 angle), judgment standard:

(a) the package is not damaged;

(b) the battery and battery cell shall be free of damage and leakage;

(c) there is no touch between the battery and the battery;
